INFORMATION (subject to change without

At the Rental Counter:
Motorhome Pick-up
Requirements:
- Renter must be a minimum of 21 years of
age and must have a major credit card
and adequate identification.
- All drivers must be a minimum of 21
years of age and have a valid drivers license driver's
license from country of residence and identification (including
passport).
- El Monte RV requires no special driver's license to drive
a motorhome. An International Driver's License is
recommended though not required.
- Renter, all additional drivers and credit card holder must
be present at the time of pick up to sign the rental
contract. There is no surcharge for additional drivers.
- Major credit card used for the required security deposit must
have a minimum credit limit of $500 available above the
rental charges.

Generator
- The use of the generator is not required for normal
vehicle operation. Customers can choose to be charged $3
per hour as determined by a time meter, or unlimited
usage may be prepaid or purchased at departure for $5 per
night.
Insurance and Coverage Options
The staff at the rental counter will go over the details of
our insurance & coverage options with you and you may choose
to accept or decline at that time (conditions and exclusions
apply).
- Vehicle Incident Protection (VIP) Coverage is included in the
wholesale nightly rental rate and reduces the Deductible to $700
per Occurrence of accidental theft or damage to the motorhome rental unit.
- Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI) is Additional
Liability Coverage up to $1,000,000.
- Mexico Auto Liability Insurance (MALI) is required
protection which must be obtained from El Monte RV for
the specific dates that the motorhome will be in Mexico.
Towing with El Monte RV Motorhomes
- 3,000 pound maximum
- Virtually all cars weigh over 3,000 pounds; so
most cars are prohibited
- Small utility, motorcycle (capacity of 3 bikes)
and single axle enclosed trailers no larger than
5ft x 8ft are usually less than 3,000 pounds.
- Towing is allowed with a sizable fee for the C25, C28,
and AS32 Motorhome unit types only.
- for the C25 & C28 the fee is $10 per night; $50
minimum charge.
- for the AS32 the fee is $10 per night;
$100 minimum charge.
- Motorhomes rented through El Monte RV have a 2" x 2"
square receiver mounted to the rear. However, El Monte RV
neither carries nor provides a towing hitch nor can we be
involved in the rental, purchase or installation of such
an item by our clients.
- There are different plug-styles for electrical hook-up;
2-prong, 3-prong and 4-prong systems exist. This feature varies
year by year, model by model and manufacturer by manufacturer.
As the specific unit to be received is not assigned until the day
of scheduled pick-up, the clients will need to find out at the
counter what plug-style is in place on their assigned unit. Only
then should one aquire an adaptor.
- IMPORTANT: El Monet RV neither carries nor provides any
insurance or coverage for towed items.
Motorhome Check-out procedures
- Paperwork (20-30 Min)
- Payment of Balance: Master Card/Eurocard, Visa,
American Express, Diner's, Cash, and Travelers
Checks.
- At the time of departure, a security deposit of $500
by Master Card/Eurocard, Visa,
American Express or Discover Card. is required.
ATM/Debit Cards are not accepted.
- Operator manuals are provided for clients to take
with them.
- Video introducing general concepts of motorhome travel
including maintenance, use and responsibility (20 Min.)
- Orientation Tour with personal instructional walk around
of motorhome by a qualified instructor. (30-45 Min.)
El Monte RV management reserves the right to deny
service to anyone deemed a credit or security risk.
Vehicle Type:
- It is not possible to reserve a specific unit
size, color, floor plan, or model year within the
specified vehicle type category.
- El Monte RV reserves the right to substitute models with
similar, higher rated or longer vehicle type category. No
refund for additional fuel consumption, ferry charges or
campground fees will be given due to the increased length
or size of motorhome.
- Vehicles may be winterized during freezing temperatures. Contact
the pick up location for instructions.
- Our motorhomes handle very much like a car and have
enough power that they accelerate as quickly as many cars.
- Our motorhomes have either a V8 or V10 engine and come
equipped with 4-Speed Overdrive Transmission, Automatic
Transmission and Factory Cruise Control as well as Power
Steering and Brakes.
Smoking/Non-Smoking Units
- There are no units designated in our fleet specifically
as "Smoking" or "Non-Smoking".
- El Monte RV requests that there be no smoking while
inside any of our rental units as it greatly increases
the amount of time it takes for our staff to sufficiently
clean and aerate the unit and items for the next party's
use. However, since we are not able to regulate this
restriction while the unit is in the hands of our
clients, we are not able to guarantee that any unit will
have a history that is entirely free of smoking.
Pets
- Pets are allowed, but a one time $50 non-refundable pet
fee is required. Client is responsible for all damage and
may be surcharged for special cleaning.
Security Deposit:
- The security deposit is a verification and pre-authorization
of available funds on your credit card in the amount of $500.
The pre-authorization is reversed at the time of return.
- The security deposit must be made with a
major credit card. ATM/Debit Cards are not accepted.
Overnight Parking at the Rental Station for Customer
Vehicles
- Customer vehicles cannot be stored at the rental location
without prior authorization from the location's Rental
Manager. Vehicle storage is not available at all
locations. If available and authorized, storage fees may
apply. El Monte RV is not responsible for any damages to
the customer's stored vehicle. Vehicle storage is at the
customer's own risk and a set of keys must be left with
the El Monte RV rental staff.
Substitutions
- We make every effort to provide the clients with the
model reserved. El Monte RV reserves the right to
substitute models which are similar, higher rated or
longer.
- If El Monte RV upgrades into higher rated or longer
vehicle, no extra charge will be due. If client requests
an upgrade into higher rated or longer vehicle, we will
charge for the price differential between the model paid
and the model received.
- If El Monte RV dowgrades a client into a smaller or lower
rated vehicle, we will refund the price differential
between the model paid and the model received. If client
requests a downgrade into a smaller or lower rated
vehicle, no refund will be due.
- Please take upgrades into consideration when making
campground or ferry reservations. No refund for
additional fuel consumption, ferry charges or campground
fees will be given due to increased length or size of
motorhome.
