Travel - In Winter, Far Northern Latitudes, High
Elevation:
- The vehicles are able to handle colder climates, but the
clients need to use their own judgment while camping.
- The heater will have to run at all times to keep the
inside water system from freezing.
- The holding tanks and sewer valves are exposed to the
outside and may freeze in very cold temperatures. The
holding tanks should never be completely full to allow
room to expand.
- As a precautionary measure during non-use at the lot,
water may be replaced by El Monte RV with antifreeze to
prevent water systems from freezing. There may be a
surcharge if clients wish to have the motorhome
de-winterized.
- The vehicles have all weather tires and are equipped with
a fire extinguisher, smoke and gas detector. Snow chains
are available for rent.
- Customers must plan on draining the tanks and using
bottled water if it gets too cold.
- The client is responsible for damages caused by freezing
of vehicle systems.
- Special instructions may be given at the rental station
concerning road conditions, extreme weather and/or
availability of support.
Luggage Storage:
- Limited luggage storage is available on a first-come-first
served basis at some location (luggage storage is at the
client's own risk). However, to facilitate the pick up
and drop off procedures, we recommend that the clients
store luggage in their vehicle. Soft-sided or collapsible
bags are the best for storage in the vehicle.
The Generator
All of our motorhome units have a generator built-in. The use
of the generator is not required for normal vehicle operation.
- The Generator runs on the same gasoline tank that the
engine does. The gasoline tank must be at least 1/4 full
in order for the generator to operate. Output is 110 Volt
and 30-45 amps.
- The Roof Air-Conditioner, the Microwave and the Electric
Setting on the Refrigerator & Freezer require 110
Volt AC to run. This means the motorhome unit is required
to be connected to an external source of electricity or
to have the generator running in order to use these
Appliances.
Staying Overnight in a Motorhome
Since our motorhomes are Self Contained it would be possible
to overnight anywhere; but it would not be legal. Motorhomes may
overnight at RV Parks, Motorhome Campsites or at roadside "Rest
Areas".
- Connecting the motorhome to campsite facilities requires
no technical expertise.
- All of our units are "Self Contained".
- This means they contain the following:
- Roof Air-Ducted Air Conditioning System;
Generator; Wash Basin; Shower; Toilet; Electric
Water Pump; (Space) Heater & Thermostat;
Kitchen Sink; Range (Stove) & Oven;
Microwave; Refrigerator & Freezer; Water
Heater; Fresh Water Storage Tank; 2 Sewage
Containment Tanks (Gray Water & Black/Blue

Camp-Site Information
- It is always wise to check the on availability of sites
long before you begin your vacation.
- Campground sites at National Parks and other commonly
visited vacation/travel spots can sometimes reach
capacity 5-6 months in advance.
- Not every Campground allows all sizes of Motorhomes. Most
sites that can accommodate large size motorhomes make a
distinction between those that are up to 25 feet and
those that are larger. Please keep this in mind when
making reservations.
- A great many National Parks do not have electrical,
water, & sewer hook-ups.
- The type of site needed will depend on what side of the
parking space the hook-ups are located. The corresponding
areas on our units are all at the rear (Sewage and
electrical) or near the middle (Fresh water and LPG).
- It is always better to get a site that is too big rather
than too small. Please take the maximum range of length
and possible upgrades into consideration when making
campground reservations.
- Campground facilities vary greatly dependant on many
factors, however a partial list of facilities commonly
found at many campgrounds would include: electric, water,
and sewage hook-ups, washing machines and dryers,
swimming pools, recreation rooms, playgrounds, and on-site
convenience stores.
- Prices for motorhome campsites vary considerably; $15-$45
per night on average (though prices may be higher or
lower in some areas). The cost depends on different
factors at different sites.
- Many sites base their prices on the size of the
space needed to park the unit (i.e. under 25ft,
25ft-29ft, over 30ft, etc.).
- The other dominant factor is the season. The
busier the season, the higher price.
- Whether or not the site is equipped with hook-ups
for electrical, water, sewer, etc may also effect
the cost.
Vehicle Support: Incidents and Inconveniences
- Upon presentation of receipts and any replaced parts
clients will be reimbursed up to $75 for repairs. For
needed repairs over $75 clients must call El Monte RV's
Roadside Assistance office for prior authorization.

They also assist in finding service for EMERGENCY

Assistance department. Absolutely no compensation will be due for
lost time and/or inconveniences arising from technical or mechanical
problems if these are not first reported to the Roadside Assistance
department.
- Upon return, clients are obligated to discuss these incidents with
the staff at the return rental counter in order to receive compensation.
Compensation for lost time and inconveniences arising from technical or
mechanical problems is calculated solely upon the prior report of these
incidents to Roadside Assistance. If compensation is awarded, clients
may be required to sign documentation confirming that any and all problems,
misunderstandings, miscommunications and/or inconveniences previously
expressed in either verbal or written form have been solved, explained
and/or compensated to his/her satisfaction thereby waiving any right--real
or imagined--to seek any further solution, explanation or compensation.
- Clients must do as instructed by Roadside Assistance. Lack of cooperation
with Roadside Assistance constitutes VOLUNTARY non-use of vehicle.
Absolutely no compensation will be due for voluntary non-use of vehicle.
- During the rental period, the clients should make no attempt to contact
one's travel agency, tour operator or booking agent concerning lost time and/or inconveniences
arising from technical or mechanical problems. Doing so will have no effect
on the availability and/or speed of vehicle towing, repair and/or replacement
and absolutely no compensation of any kind will be given for communication
costs incurred. Clients should be instructed by travel agency, tour operator or booking agent
to coordinate the repair efforts with El Monte RV Roadside Assistance and to
discuss compensation with the staff at the return rental counter.

prepay for the fuel on pickup and return empty, or return
the vehicle with a full tank.
- All of our motorhomes and their generators are powered by
unleaded gasoline engines.
- No claims are made as to fuel consumption. Fuel
consumption will vary according to where and how vehicle
is driven.
